Here’s a sample itinerary for your 3-day hiking adventure.

3 days hiking adventure in Merzouga desert

Day 1: Merzouga Village to Erg Chebbi Dunes

We will Meet your local guide and group in Merzouga village, where your journey will begin.
Start hiking towards the mesmerizing Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which can reach heights of up to 150 meters.
The trek may take a few hours, and you’ll pass through the arid desert landscape, enjoying the peace and vastness of the surroundings.
Arrive at a traditional Berber campsite near the dunes where you’ll spend the night.
Experience a warm Berber welcome, enjoy a traditional dinner, and gather around a campfire to listen to local music and stargaze under the clear desert sky.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi Dunes Exploration

 You will wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes, bathing the landscape in a golden glow.
After breakfast, set out on a day of exploring the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Your guide will lead you through the sandy ridges and explain the desert’s unique flora and fauna.
Climb to the top of the dunes for stunning panoramic views of the vast desert stretching endlessly.
Have a picnic lunch amidst the dunes and take some time to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere.
In the afternoon, continue the hike to explore the nearby oases and possibly meet some friendly nomads living in traditional tents.
Return to the campsite in the late afternoon for another night of Berber hospitality, local cuisine, and camaraderie.

Day 3: Back to Merzouga Village

Enjoy one last sunrise in the desert before having a hearty breakfast.
Bid farewell to the campsite and the beautiful desert as you start your hike back to Merzouga village.
