Day 1:

Depart Merzouga after enjoying a satisfying breakfast. Today’s hike will predominantly involve traversing sandy terrain and navigating through the undulating dunes. We’ll break for a refreshing lunch in an oasis and have the option to establish our camp behind the dunes, which could even be a luxurious choice for those interested.

Day 2:

Our journey on this day will lead us across the rugged hills, allowing us to explore an abandoned village and the remnants of old mines. We’ll spend the night camping amidst the majestic dunes of Erg Znigui.

Day 3:

Today’s adventure will take us toward the imposing mountains of Hassi Begaa. We’ll set up camp early in preparation for an awe-inspiring sunset hike up the mountain, promising panoramic vistas.

Day 4:

Our camp remains stationed for an additional night as we dedicate the day to exploring the mountain’s surroundings and seeking encounters with the local nomadic communities.

Day 5:

Our trek for the day involves making our way to Hassi Begaa village and its inviting oasis. There’s even a chance to visit a quaint local shop. We’ll spend the night camping amidst the enchanting dunes of Erg Znigui.

Day 6:

Today offers a relatively easygoing experience, with a brief hike leading us to Taouz. We’ll set up camp in proximity to the town, ensuring a comfortable evening.

Day 7:

Our path on this day follows the course of Ouad Ziz, the dried-up riverbed. We’ll continue along it, ultimately reaching Jdeid, where we’ll establish our camp near the towering mountains. For those interested, there’s an optional detour to explore local petroglyphs.

Day 8:

We embark on our ascent into the mountains, all the while keeping a lookout for additional petroglyph discoveries. Our night will be spent camping amidst the rugged mountain terrain.

Day 9:

This day is devoted entirely to exploring the captivating mountain landscapes, as we continue our immersive journey. We’ll once again set up camp amidst the mountains, embracing the rugged beauty.

Day 10:

On our final day, we bid farewell to the mountains and crossed Ouad Ziz. Depending on our progress, we might even have the opportunity to visit a nearby lake before making our way back to Merzouga, concluding this remarkable expedition.
